Practice Facilities
Matlock has some of the best practice facilities in the county and ambitious plans are in development to make them even better. Current facilities are as follows.
For a quick pre-match putting tune-up, a three-hole green lies immediately adjacent to the 1st tee. For more extensive short game practice, there is a larger nine-hole green next to it. This one reflects some of the contours to be expected on the course and incorporates a two-hole chipping green. About 50 yards away sits a two-bay practice net.
The main practice ranges lie on either side of the 18th fairway. To its north is an open-air multi-bay range with target flags at 50-yard intervals. Its 300 yards allows practice with any club in the bag. To the south is an open area with a full size practice green and bunker. The club limit for most here is mid to short iron.
Access to these areas is restricted to members, bona-fide visitors and individuals or groups receiving a lesson from our Professional.
Outline planning permission has been secured for a covered and lit practice facility on the north area.
