Excitement is continuing to build at Matlock Golf Club as work progresses on our brand new Trackman driving range experience in the heart of the Peak District. As part of the transformation, we are proud to announce a new partnership with Intuitive Electrical. Intuitive Electrical have completed the specialist electrical, data and security enabling works for the new Trackman range installation.

A Huge Project Behind the Scenes

While many golfers will soon see the finished Trackman driving range in action, there has already been an enormous amount of work taking place behind the scenes to prepare the facility. A large portion of which was competed by the new driving range sponsors themselves, Intuitive Electrical. Here is a breakdown of the work behind the scenes that is required to bring the Trackman range to life.

Day 1

The Project Begins

The first phase of the TrackMan range installation focused on preparing the infrastructure needed for the advanced radar tracking systems. The team from Intuitive Electrical completed the installation of the outfield and roof radar columns. These columns will form a key part of the Trackman driving range system.

A huge amount of preparation work also took place behind the scenes, including trenches and concrete bases for the field radar columns. Special thanks went to Sam from the greenkeeping team, club captain John and course chairman Mark for helping prepare the groundwork needed to get the project underway.

Even at this early stage, it was clear the new TrackMan range at Matlock Golf Club was going to be something special.

Day 2

Over 1.2km of Cabling Installed

Day two saw one of the largest infrastructure phases of the project completed.

More than 1.2 kilometres of electrical, fibre optic, data and security cabling was installed throughout the driving range. This cable was required to power the TrackMan systems and supporting technology.

This work forms the backbone of the new TrackMan driving range experience. It allows real-time ball tracking, shot analysis and seamless communication between the radar systems and golfer displays. High-speed fibre optic cabling was also installed directly to the outfield radar systems. Helping to ensure fast and reliable transfer of shot data across the entire range.

While much of this work remains hidden beneath the surface, it is one of the most important parts of creating a premium TrackMan range experience in the Peak District.

Day 3

Security and Data Systems Completed

By day three, the project had moved into its final preparation stages ahead of the TrackMan installation itself. All CCTV and security systems were installed, alongside socket outlets and data terminations throughout the range bays.

The range is now ready for a full refresh and redecoration before the final TrackMan equipment is installed and commissioned. With each stage completed, excitement is continuing to build around what will soon become one of the most advanced golf practice facilities in Derbyshire.
