“We enjoyed a great day at Matlock Golf Club on Friday. The weather was beautiful as was the course and surroundings. Lots of interesting holes with plenty of variety and excellent greens. The staff and members were very welcoming and I’d have no hesitation in returning or recommending the course.”

“Very safe for those worried about Covid. Great practice facilities. 2 warm up nets, chipping area and putting green all near to clubhouse. If you like to see where your warm up shots are going there’s a 10 bay covered driving* range 3 minute walk away. Apart from 2 longish par 4s, 438 & 424 yards each, this is a short course. There are a 3 par 5s but there all under 490 off the yellows. This is a hilly course with great views of the Peak District hills from the elevated tees. I loved the challenge of gaging the right. club and happily got it right most of the time. The greens were Med paced and very true and the fringes were easy to chip from. Also the bunkers were well raked. I loved my round here and will definitely come back.”

“Love this course, it’s hilly varied well laid out and well kept. Always have a good game and enjoy the variety very much. It’s a long haul up the slopes but the views are great too! Give it a try.”

“On the southern fringes of the beautiful Peak District, this turned out to be a real find! You encounter a delightful course surrounded by glorious scenery with rolling hills, far-reaching views, rocky crags and glimpses of the spooky ruins of Riber Castle. There are some cracking par-4s, most notably the 5th, 6th, 9th and 16th, and everyone will remember the par 3 10th at the far end of the course which requires a confident shot over a ravine of ferns, heather and gorse. The 11th fairway is home to the Cuckoo Stone, a large rock under a hawthorn tree which serves as the clubs logo so if you like your golf scenic, natural, varied, testing, at times quirky but above all fun, then Matlock really should be on your ‘to play’ list.”

“Many thanks for the hospitality your club showed us on Sunday. Once again the course was in fantastic nick, the greens were slick and true and the rough was punishing (as it should be), please pass on our thanks to the green staff. It was the first time for some of our contingency and they were suitably impressed. A big thank you for presenting a bottle of whisky for a hole in 1 on the eighth.”
