TrackMan is Coming to the Driving Range at Matlock Golf Club

Matlock Golf Club is about to take another major step forward in modern golf practice. We are delighted to announce that TrackMan technology is coming to the driving range. Giving members and visitors access to one of the most advanced golf performance systems in the world.

Many golfers will already know that TrackMan is installed inside our simulator room, where it has been used for coaching sessions, winter practice and club fitting. The addition of TrackMan to the driving range now completes the picture. Bringing the same professional level technology outdoors and making it accessible during everyday practice.

For golfers across Matlock, Derbyshire and the Peak District, this is a significant upgrade to the club’s facilities and another example of our ongoing investment in helping players enjoy and improve their game.

What is TrackMan?

TrackMan is a radar based golf tracking system used by tour professionals, elite coaches and leading golf academies across the world. Using highly accurate radar technology, it tracks both the golf ball and the club through impact. Delivering detailed information about every shot you hit.

Instead of guessing how far a shot travelled or why the ball curved left or right, TrackMan shows you exactly what happened. It measures key data such as carry distance, ball speed, launch angle and spin rate. Helping golfers understand their game in far greater detail.

This level of insight has transformed how golfers practice. Rather than simply hitting balls on the range. Players can now practise with clear feedback and measurable progress.

From Simulator to Driving Range

TrackMan has already proved extremely popular inside the Matlock Golf Club simulator room. Where it has been used by members for indoor practice sessions and by our PGA professionals during coaching lessons.

The installation of TrackMan on the driving range will now extend that experience outside. Golfers will be able to hit real shots into the range while still receiving the same accurate data and performance feedback.

This creates a complete practice environment at Matlock Golf Club. Members will have access to TrackMan both indoors and outdoors. Allowing them to work on their game all year round, whatever the weather.

Why This Matters for Your Practice

Most golfers spend time on the driving range, but traditional range practice often involves a lot of guesswork. You hit a shot that feels good, but you do not always know exactly what happened. TrackMan removes that uncertainty.

With instant feedback after every shot, golfers can clearly see their distances, ball flight and consistency. This helps players understand their tendencies and make better decisions when practising.

It is this combination of data and real ball flight that has made TrackMan one of the most respected technologies in golf.

A Huge Benefit for Golf Lessons

The arrival of TrackMan on the driving range will also bring huge benefits for coaching sessions at Matlock Golf Club.

Our PGA professional team already uses TrackMan inside the simulator room to help golfers understand their swing and improve their performance. Having the same technology available on the driving range means lessons can now combine real ball flight with accurate performance data.

This makes it particularly valuable for golfers taking golf lessons in Derbyshire or learning to play golf in the Peak District. As all the feedback is immediate, in realtime and easy to understand.

Whether you are a beginner trying to make solid contact. Or an experienced golfer looking to tighten dispersion and improve distance control. TrackMan allows every lesson to be more precise and more productive.
